The Day Rob Popped my Cherry....

I am so happy to be Spooning in Forks...as TwitardedMom was so gracious to let us guest blog!

I know,right? I'm pretty excited too!!

So of course, this has been an insane week..with all the Bel-Ami anticipation & now all the hot new Robporn from Water for Elephants. I've never been into the whole "blue-collar" sort of guy..but Rob could probably make me horny drool over pretty much any character he plays!!

So I guess, for my first post I'll just kind of introduce myself and give a little back-story on my Robsession...

Uh-Oh..I think Johnny just found out about Rob?!

I'm 42-Single Mom of 3 boys-knew nothing about Twilight until my friend "dragged" me along to see the movie 'cause she didn't want to go alone. I almost feel like that's where my life split in half and I was reborn..dramatic? Maybe..True? Absolutely. Sure Cedric was a cute little character...but he was now totally fucking hawt grown up & consumed me immediately. I devoured the entire series + Midnight Sun in a few days. I then read them back to back 5 times..my oldest son-18 thought I was insane..my middle son-13 talked trash non-stop about how Twilight was so stupid blah blah..the youngest-12 was just tolerant.

Harry Who?

What do you mean Voldemort killed me & I came back as a Vampire?!
Are you fucking kidding me?

The Twilight DVD came out, and I watched it several times with my youngest. My middle son refused to watch it because "it was stupid and lame and he wasn't a loser" LOL..gotta love kids.
Anyway, for one reason or another, he ended up sitting & watching the WHOLE movie...and a convert was made!! He was immediately Team Edward (bless his soul) and he wanted to read the books. Now, this is a kid who has never read a book willingly in his life-not even Harry Potter (which is not stupid/lame) so you can imagine how excited I was!! Whatever gets them to read, right? Even better still that it was my beloved Edward. When he finished New Moon, he HATED Jacob..nobody could even mention Jacob's name (which was funny because all my so-called friends are Team Jacob) without illiciting "he can burn in hell" from him.

I went to Comic-Con last year-I completely lucked out, because I had a ticket only for Thursday, and that was the day Twilight was going to be there!! I saw the movie again at the theater in San Diego, and all the stars were there & did a Q&A before the movie..we got all the special promo stuff that wasn't out yet & a signed poster. It was amazing!!

Don't you just love Rob with a Mic?

I saw New Moon at midnight, and it was so exciting! To see all the crazed fans (and most of them were not pre-teens as the media would like to condescendingly infer all the time). It was hysterical! I have never heard so much moaning outside of a bedroom before! All of my coworkers that went with me like Twilight but are not Twitards for sure. They were semi-apalled/shocked by all the grown women swooning over Jacob openly LOL (they did it too-but privately). There was 1 guy in our group..and he was completely floored!!

My office cubicle is wall to wall Edward/Rob..and people say "oh, you're the Twilight Girl". My coworkers/friends all get me Twilighty stuff for Bdays/Holidays and I change my desktop daily..because there is just too much Rob smexiness to just look at the same pic day after day :-)
I kinda think some people are perturbed by the bag of blood I have hanging...their prob-not mine!

I've seen Remember Me twice in the theater..bawled both times..I really thought it was a great movie-I loved Rob in it-I did not focus on the whole 9/11 aspect as it was such a tiny part of it. I think if that's all anyone took from it, they missed the point. Just my opinion...

Like all of you, I found Blogs..and now I have no free time lol.. I have my Eclipse tix in hand and am seeing Rob in all his sexy glory in IMAX!!! Doesn't get much better than that!

Next up I'm planning on reading Bel-Ami & WFE...I'm beyond excited for every project Rob is attached to!

Does anyone know where I can get Rob's laughter as a ringtone? That would just be the Ultimate!

Wake Up! Ok-enough about my boring life...anyone else have any interesting "How they became Twilight Fans" stories? *Pulls up a chair* Spill It..In the Comments..

Sidenote: I have lots of pics crammed on my comp from a clusterfuck of places...if you created any of them, please let me know so we can properly credit :-)

  3. OME - I read the books FOUR times back-to-back, and now you've beaten my record! LMAO - seriously, when I tell people I read the books 4 times back to back, they look at me like I have two heads (so I've stopped telling anyone but you online people who are as nuts as me, apparently)! Great post - love that you converted you boys!

  4. It's kind of crazy now that I think about it..but I switched it up each time..Read 1-4 then Midnight Sun..Then Twilight/Mid sun..then started with Mid Sun..I guess I justified it in some strange way lol! Everytime my son came downstairs..he was speechless..kept suggesting other things for me to read. Then of course, The Host came out and then I went to Vamp Diaries, House of Night & Sookie. I really want to reread The Series again..maybe just Eclipse before the movie-because I want to read Bel Ami & WFE.
I'm such a spazz because it's like I'm in my own world of "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon"..except everything comes full circle back to Twilight. God-don't even let someone ask how old someone's kid is & they say 17...

  5. I only read the books once. Once. Am planning on starting a re-read soon, though.

My journey to Twilight obsession started a little over a year ago, when on a stormy afternoon I decided to watch the film I downloaded - Twilight. I knew nothing about it at the time, and was incredibly intrigued by its cinematography and the overall indie feel. Every once in a while I'd run into a little bit of Twilight related stuff on the internet, and when I finally decided to google it, I realized it was based on a book - 4 books to be precise. Still, I did nothing. Last summer, in August, I spent a night at my cousin's place in Macedonia on my way back from Greece. There, in her living room, I noticed a copy of New Moon. I was instantly intrigued. She saw me picking it up and told me that a friend passing through her apartment had left it there, and she told me I could take it if I wanted. At first I refused, but then, as if hearing siren's song, I decided to take it home with me. I looked at it for days when I realized that I should probably read the first book as well, so I ordered all four. And the rest is history.

To this day, my cousin from Macedonia says: "My god, I've created a monster" LMAO. :D

  6. Wow, where to start? Well, I read the books because a couple of friends had just finished Twilight. This was right before Breaking Dawn came out. I finished the first three books in a matter of 4 days and just in time to go to the store and purchase BD...found a copy at Target. Don't know what I would have done if I would have had to wait forever like some people who had been reading since Twilight first came out! PURE TORTURE! I went from there to reading The Host...LOVED it! I've re-read a few times, but not in order. I've also read Midnight Sun a couple of times. I went to the midnight viewing of Twilight with 3 other twihards...they were seriously the only ones I knew back then. My love grew for the story. My first piece of merch was handmade and I bought it off of Etsy before the movie came out. You can understand my excitement when places like Hot Topic and Borders started selling Twi merch! My office (like yours) is a Twilight paradise! I just let out a collective *sigh* each morning when I walk in. I have Edward and Jacob stand-ups, posters galore, autographed pics of about 9 cast members, a HUGE autographed banner from a Twilight Convention, things left over from my New Moon premiere party I threw last year, just about anything Hot Topic has ever sold, and most magazines that have graced the shelves, calendars, handmade items, Twilight journals, director's notebook, Barbies, Pocket Edward, and My own little corkboard collage. It's a slice of heaven. I've converted tons of friends (real-life and bloggy friends). I'm planning a HUGE Eclipse party for next month. I even have a Twilight tattoo that I got last summer. I have enough Twilight shirts to keep me clothed for at least a couple of weeks...without doing laundry. I always have a Pocket Edward in my purse...for emergencies. I'm currently re-reading Eclipse and I'm more in love with the story than ever before.

  7. Tess, it's wonderful to meet other women with the same mental illness ;-) None of my friends are major fans. They all like it & will go with me if I drag them somewhere..but don't buy any of the mags/tshirts/anything merchandise-wise. They don't rag on me about my obsession, but I think sometimes they do a mental eyeroll lol..I wish I knew other fans in California..seems like everyone is East Coast :-(

The friend who took me to see Twilight that night is amazed by some of the things I do..and I always remind her it is her fault!!!

I am limited in how much I can put at the house..my oldest son has said he would disown me for one thing or another..he hates Twilight & talks shit about Rob all the time..really kinda pisses me off. Is it so wrong to have a hobby that makes me happy? I'm not out drinking/gambling/fucking everything that moves..so where's the harm?

    Thank you for your story!!
